Part I—The Beginning Of Sorrows
Chapter 1
“Take Heed That No One Deceives You”
Some 300 people gathered in a room at the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill March 23, 2004. The dozen or so elected officials and their numerous aides, as well as the 100 nationwide religious leaders, guests of honor, waited with anxious anticipation the awards ceremony that was to take place. Many were hoping to get on with it because they had people to see, places to go in the fast-paced “inside the beltway” modicum of daily business.
The Congressmen, Senators and religious leaders from Jewish, Muslim and Christian denominations did not know they were about to witness the coronation of the Messiah. Illinois Democrat Congressman Danny Davis wore white gloves and carried a pillow where the ornate crown of the Messiah rested as it was soon placed on the head of the “King of Peace.”
The Reverend Sun Myung Moon addressed the assembly saying he was "sent to Earth... to save the world's six billion people...Emperors, kings and presidents...have declared to all heaven and Earth that Reverend Sun Myung Moon is none other than humanity's savior, Messiah, returning Lord and true parent.” Moon told the group that he has had discussions in the spirit world with all deceased U.S. presidents, Jesus, Moses, Mohammed and others.
“The founders of five great religions and many other leaders in the spirit world, including even communist leaders such as Marx and Lenin…and dictators such as Hitler and Stalin, have found strength in my teachings, mended their ways and been reborn as new persons,” Moon said.
Some of the guests were stunned. Others were elated. A Jewish rabbi was quoted as saying, “I have never experienced Jews, Christians and Muslims united in such a strong commitment to unity and peace. These people are simply coming together as brothers and sisters, breaking down the hatred and separation that is causing so much bloodshed. Reverend Moon is teaching about the one true God, the God of our common father Abraham, and causing his children to come together.”
